All are custom cut to order—please call for details.

Finish
All slate countertops are honed to a smooth, matte (not shiny) finish. The honing process creates a warm, user friendly surface that will last for generations.

Why Our Slate is the Best
Our slate is quarried from the Vermont Slate Belt which is one and a half miles wide and runs 30 miles from Vermont to New York State.

Unlike imported slates, Mountain Plum™ slate was created under “just right” natural conditions—coupled with a high silica content—to make it the most dense and durable in the world!

Mountain Plum™ will not stain and is safe from bacterial growth and acids from food and wine.

Maintenance
Slate countertops are low maintenance and can be kept clean with any household cleaner. After installation, a light coat of Food Grade Mineral Oil is recommended to keep them looking their best.
